Regular Full-Time Position

For its growing land use practice, Cauley Pridgen, P.A. is seeking an attorney with at least two (2) years of experience in land use law and related litigation. Candidates should demonstrate exceptional energy and a cooperative, professional demeanor. Requirements/Qualifications

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience working in land use law and handling related disputes and litigation
  • Strong academic background, including a J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Licensed in North Carolina
  • Strong communication, writing and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations relevant to land use, development entitlements, planning, zoning, quasi-judicial proceedings, representation of boards and commissions and related civil cases
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

This attorney position is full time and will require flexibility to work extended hours when needed. The practice area is primarily throughout the Triangle and Eastern NC. However, we do not have minimum billing requirements and enjoy a business casual environment that allows both hybrid remote and in-person work in any of the firm’s three office locations.

Paralegal

Small law firm with a statewide presence seeking a reliable and proactive Real Estate Paralegal with 0-2 years of experience to assist Attorneys in our Wilson, Raleigh and Kinston offices. The Paralegal’s primary responsibilities will be to work with our Attorneys on real property related transactions and litigation. The Paralegal will also be responsible for developing and maintaining a database for all case files, drafting real estate and litigation documents, and communicating with potential clients, Clerk of Court, Register of Deeds and other third parties. As we continue to grow, the ideal candidate for this position is reliable, organized, professional, responsible, and committed to helping us maintain the level of excellence our clients expect. Experience with real property title searching is preferred.

Job Description: Paralegal

  • Knowledge of Word , Outlook and Excel required;
  • Experience with real estate and/or title search preferred;
  • Research real estate title using online and manual search tools;
  • Draft form documents including deeds, closing documents, complaints, motions, pleadings, etc.;
  • Preparation and organization of files;
  • Formatting documents and spreadsheets;
  • Maintaining database and litigation calendar;
  • Communicating with Clerk of Courts, Register of Deeds, opposing Attorneys and other third parties regarding cases;
  • Answering multi-line phone system and directing telephone calls to appropriate Attorney/Paralegal;
  • Welcome and greet clients; Schedule/reserve Conference rooms when requested;
  • Assist in any duties assigned by Attorneys ;
  • Computer and File Storage searches ;
  • Filing/recording documents, obtain copies, etc. at Court House and ROD;
  • Sort and file documents in appropriate Attorneys offices and in client files;
  • Scan and forward documents that to appropriate Attorney as needed;
  • Run errands as required, including travel to Eastern NC Courthouses and Register of Deeds;
  • Checking office for required supplies and restock as needed;
  • Manage, maintain and keep supplies in inventory for Wilson office copiers;
  • Assist with client intake and opening new files as needed;
  • Assist with Attorney billings and time entries;
  • Salary to commensurate with experience;

Experience:

  • Office/administrative experience required;
  • Paralegal experience preferred;
  • Real Estate title research experience preferred;
  • NC Certified Paralegal preferred, or desire to obtain certification;
